Weekends…

•October 13, 2007 • Leave a Comment

Weekends are the best. You get to stay up late and then sleep in the next morning. I admit that weekdays do have their pluses, such as getting to see your friends and being able to learn cool stuff at school, but weekends still trump weekdays. This is why I am happy that I get Thursday and Friday off this up coming week. YEAH, four day weekend! Now… what will I do all weekend? The possibilities are endless. Nothing else really going on here, so I must be off now.

My new favorite quote.

I have a new favorite quote.  It was at the end of a movie that I watched.  Um… here’s the quote “When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace” -Jimi Hendrix.  I think it is a truly beautiful quote, I hope that it comes true one day.

What, homecoming is over?

•September 29, 2007 • 1 Comment

Homecoming went very well, for me at least.  Our team got pummeled… 6 to 40 something.  We are just about the worst team in our area, we played the best team in our area.  I had to play in the band.  The half time show and pre-game music went off without a hitch.  I still can’t believe it is over, we worked so hard in band to prepare for the parade and show and then suddenly it was over.  It was really fun, though.  I can’t wait for homecoming next year!

Homecoming!

Homecoming is coming up soon. We are getting ready in band. We get to do little moves with our music during the half time show. We also get to march in the parade. I hope we don’t get rained out this year. I am super excited! I love dressing up during the week- this year homecoming is 70’s themed. I <3 homecoming!!! I will try to remember to post about how it goes.

P.S. Sorry about all of the we’s and I’s.

Livy’s first week of school

•September 8, 2007 • Leave a Comment

My first week of school was fairly uneventful. I am terribly sick, though. I have very bad nasal congestion. This isn’t the best when you are trying to focus on learning and getting back into the school routine. I did hold a tarantula in science class. My teacher has one. He is trying to get all of his students to hold it, you know the whole over come your fears bit. Nothing else to report since it was a fairly short week.

Blog neglect

•September 1, 2007 • Leave a Comment

I am sorry that I have been neglecting the blog. I have been out of town and before that I had nothing to say ( I still don’t really). I haven’t been up to much lately, so nothing really to report on. Hmmm… I kinda cleaned me room, though that isn’t really important. Oh, I did make some cute little signs to label my folders. I also went to two different parks on Saturday and Sunday (the 25th and 26th) which was quite fun. Ah, sorry such a bore, but I am sure that things will be more interesting when school starts.

Ah, to be lazy.

•August 23, 2007 • Leave a Comment

I have been quite lazy lately. Watching the t.v. and surfing the web all day. I can say that it was a good thing to do since the weather has been quite rainy. I did however go to my school to get my schedule (I walked and everything!-ok so it’s only about a half a mile but it still counts). School starts on the 5th and I must say that the rest of my summer is all booked- darn anyways, no more laziness! I am going to my aunt’s for a week to practice my flute. Her major in college was the flute and she also taught band. Good thing I am going since I have barely practiced this summer. Not practicing wasn’t such a good idea since I moved to the upper level band. Hopefully her guidance will get me ready for band (the teacher is a bit strict and doesn’t like people who don’t practice their instruments. oops). Due to said laziness I don’t have much to talk about, so I guess I should end this post here.

Book Reviews -finally!

•August 20, 2007 • 2 Comments

So I decided that I should finally write some book reviews since Lex said we would have some. Hmmm….. what book to write a review on…. I think I will write about Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse (all by Stephenie Meyer).

Twilight: This book is amazing. Stephenie Meyer’s descriptions are so good that her characters seem like real people. Once you pick up this book, you won’t want to set it down. Even after reading it multiple times, it is still exciting. Twilight isn’t one of those “just for 12-year old girls” books, people of many ages (and of both genders) can enjoy this book. You should check this book out!- man I feel like one of those infomercial people that talk too fast and too loud. Sorry if I give you that impression, but I really do love this book. (the only real down fall is that the beginning is mostly just explaining.)

New Moon: New Moon is the perfect sequel to Twilight. There are just as many twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat. Some parts make you want to skip to the end just to see how things turn out, but trust me you really do want to read the middle because it helps you fully understand the story line and the character’s feelings. There really isn’t as much to say without revealing anything. (I guess you’ll just have to read it, huh?)

Eclipse: This book rocks! There are many unsuspected things that happen. You really get to know the characters and their personalities better(after New Moon, you really dislike the character Jacob, but in this book you learn to love him).

Stephenie’s description of this series is absolutely true- Twilight is about finding true love, New Moon is about losing true love, and Eclipse is about choosing true love. I guess I should describe what these books are about since all I have done is rave about how good they are. I don’t think I can really describe it quite right so here are some links to descriptions… Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse. (scroll down to “from the publisher” on each of them.) Sorry if my reviews seem horrible when compared to some of the reviews on the pages I just linked to.

P.S. Read these books.

Hmm…

I am unsure what to write, but I feel I should post something. School is starting soon (for me at least). I want to go, but then again I don’t. I will be able to see my school friends, but I won’t be able to see Lex as much (and other non-school friends). :( how sad. Guess I should just roll with it. I should go, I don’t know what else to talk about.

The book signing…

•August 12, 2007 • Leave a Comment

The book signing was quite cool. Stephenie Meyer did about half an hour of Q&A and then began signing books. Even though we got there early, the place was packed. About 500+ people in all showed up. It was very fun except for the fact that we couldn’t hear or see Stephenie, and it was way too hot. You really started to understand what a sardine feels like… I think in the beginning while waiting in line we thought it wasn’t worth the hassle, but once we actually got closer our minds changed. We were definitely awestruck. We had all this stuff planed out to say to her, but once she was actually signing our books we were speechless. “OMG we met Stephenie Meyer, she signed our books, she commented on our attire (based off the book covers), she so rocks.”- all of this was said in the car after we left (or at least something like it). I saw her before everyone else did though. Lex’s mom commented on how she noticed her hiding in a back room so I was kinda watching in that general direction. Hmm gee Livy, that sure looks like Stephenie and why would any other grown woman be hiding her face while being dragged around by the hand… very suspicious. I am so sure that is her. I should mention it to Lex. I do mention it to Lex. Everyone else was so oblivious that they didn’t even notice. It was so cool. Ok, I will stop obsessing now. The drive home from the book signing wasn’t fun at all, though… it seemed to be a never ending drive in the dark. We were so dead beat. All in all the day was fun (I figured I’d stop talking before I ramble too much).
